We recently completed a full ground-floor flooring project for a customer in Stroud, transforming a tired and uneven existing floor into a modern, clean and durable LVT finish.
Preparing the floor properly
One of the most important parts of any LVT installation is the preparation underneath the flooring.
The existing floor had a number of imperfections and uneven areas, so rather than simply covering them over, we carried out the necessary preparation to create a suitable surface for the new flooring.
The floor was thoroughly prepared and primed before applying a latex screed. The primer helps create the correct bond between the existing substrate and the smoothing compound, while the latex screed provides a much smoother and more even surface ready for the LVT.
Taking the time to prepare the floor properly helps achieve a much better finished appearance and gives the LVT the appropriate surface to be installed onto.
Professional LVT installation
Once the preparation had been completed and the floor was ready, we installed the chosen wood-effect LVT throughout the ground floor.
The LVT was carefully fitted through the different areas of the property, with attention paid to doorways, room transitions, edges and the areas around existing features.
The result is a consistent flooring finish that flows throughout the ground floor and gives the property a much more modern appearance.
A practical and hard-wearing flooring solution
