We recently completed a full carpet installation for a customer in Stroud, covering three bedrooms, the stairs and landing.
The customer wanted a carpet that would not only look good but also cope with the demands of everyday use. We therefore selected a hard-wearing loop pile carpet and paired it with an upgraded underlay to provide a comfortable feel underfoot while also giving the carpet a good, supportive base.
Choosing a hard-wearing carpet
Loop pile carpets can be a great option for busy areas of the home. The construction gives them a practical and durable feel, making them particularly suitable for areas such as stairs, landings and bedrooms that see regular foot traffic.

For this project, we used an upgraded underlay to provide a more comfortable feel underfoot while giving the carpet a firm and supportive base.

Full preparation before fitting
Rather than simply fitting over the existing setup, we carried out a full preparation of the areas before installing the new carpet.
This included:
New gripper throughout
New upgraded underlay throughout
New door bars where required
Professional carpet fitting throughout the bedrooms, stairs and landing
Replacing the gripper gives the new carpet a fresh and secure foundation, while the new underlay ensures the carpet isn't being fitted onto an old or worn-out base.
Three bedrooms, stairs and landing
The carpet was fitted throughout all three bedrooms before continuing through onto the stairs and landing.
The result is a consistent finish throughout the upstairs of the property, with the loop pile carpet providing a practical appearance while the upgraded underlay gives a much more comfortable feel underfoot.
The stairs and landing in particular benefit from having a carpet designed to cope with regular foot traffic, making the combination of the hard-wearing carpet and quality underlay a practical choice.
